Gas Safety Check
A safety check starts with a visual inspection to check the gas installation . Appliances, flexible hoses, pipe unions and regulators are checked. The gas locker is visually checked to see that it will drain safely overboard.
Followed by a pressure test to ensure the system is sound. Then the gas is turned on and the appliance is tested to make sure it working correctly.

Flexible hoses are date stamped at the time of manufacture and have a recomended life span of 5 years.
This example was very perished and still in date when it was removed!
Gas lockers should have a drain to allow LPG safely out overboard in the event of a leak.
The locker should hold the bottles securely.
It should be free of other items that may block the drain as in this photo.
Regulators have a recomended life span of 10 years.
If your boat has a regulator like the one pictured above it will be more than 10 years old. The chances are it works very well but for how much longer?
